Next month is the last chance to have your say on the design of the new Swan Hill Riverside Skate Park.
On Wednesday, 1 November skate park design experts Convic will be back in Swan Hill to host the final community workshop, bringing with them a draft design based on your feedback.
Including aerial and 3D layout plans, their design takes into consideration that the majority of riders favoured a combination of street and transition style. The concept features a spine ramp, bowl, kicker to kicker, rails and quarter pipes of varying heights to cater to all skill levels.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Mayor Les McPhee said Council was once again putting the call out to young people.
“From day one, we made a commitment that this would be a true reflection of what our younger community wants and needs, and we have had some fantastic input so far,” Cr McPhee said.
“We’re getting down to the nitty gritty end now and this is the last chance to give us your input or let us know if we have missed something,” he said.
“So I urge any young person interested in the skate park to come along to the workshop and let us know what you think. Because you use the park, not us – so you’re the experts.”
The workshop will be held at the Swan Hill Town Hall on 1 November from 5.30pm to 7pm. Everyone is welcome – skaters of all ages, parents of young skaters, or anyone else with ideas for the park’s design.
