Over 20 people attended the Swan Hill Riverside Park skate park workshop last night, providing feedback on the concept design.
With an overwhelmingly positive response to the draft layout of the skate park, the only major request was for more ‘fly-out’ space around the edge of the park.
Council’s Acting Community Economic and Development Manager Fiona Gormann said she was thrilled with the level of community involvement.
“We had another great turnout last night, highlighting again the importance of this project to our community,” Ms Gormann said.
“And it was really pleasing and exciting to hear that everyone was happy with concept design.
“Because this shows that the community’s input, coupled with Convic’s ability to put those ideas into a functional layout, means we are absolutely on the right track to delivering a skate park our community can and will be proud of.”
Ms Gormann went on to thank all those who have had input into the skate park so far.
“I really want to thank all members of our community, especially our youth, who have been involved in the planning stages.
“Whether it’s been through giving ideas, providing feedback online or attending meetings – your efforts now are ensuring we will have a fantastic skate park in the future, and for many years to come.”
For those that couldn’t make the workshop, an online survey is now available.
