Youth artwork set to shine

Preparation is underway for Swan Hill’s Youth Arts Festival (YAF) 2019.

The Youth Arts Festival is an annual one day event celebrating the talents of young people in our community.

This year it will take place on Saturday, 26 October in Swan Hill’s Campbell Street. The Festival will feature live performances and open art spaces for young people.

Youth Arts Festival Ambassador Will Garvie said local youth were looking forward to this year’s event.

“The Youth Arts Festival event provides a platform for young artists to receive recognition and acknowledgment.”

“Preparation has commenced and we are looking forward to transforming the vacant Swan Hill arcade shop to a gallery to showcase local talent.”

“We want to encourage people to come and join us on the day, and help celebrate the arts in our community,” he said.

Ambassador Toni Mia Scalora said she was looking forward to this year’s event and the opportunity it provides to lift confidence in young talent.

“We have over 80 pieces of art submitted this year. Artwork includes paintings, poetry, photos and more.”

“Please pop into the arcade gallery this Swan Hill Market Day and check out all the fantastic artwork,” she said.

If you would more information on the festival please visit Youth Inc at 50-52 Campbell Street and have a chat, or you can send them a message via Facebook.
